Book review: Magic thinking for kids by Marrielle Monte

Publisher's description

Live Happy Magazine listed Award-Winning, Magic Thinking for Kids a Top 5 Book to Cheer Up, and Gear Up Kids for School!

If your kiddo likes "Have you filled your buckets today" or "I think, I AM!" then they will love Magic Thinking for Kids!

Just as adults sometimes have negative thoughts, so do children. Do you want your child to be resilient and be able to combat stressful days? Do you want your child to have a successful life they love? Then this adorable, interactive, call and response book will help empower your child every day

Magic Thinking for Kids is a fun introduction to positive self-talk and affirmations, teaching kids they have the power to change the way they feel by changing their thoughts.

Using bright illustrations and fun interactive examples kids see how to incorporate positive affirmations into their daily life. The goal is to help kids become more mindful of their thoughts and choose more positive thoughts to feel good about themselves so they lead happier, more successful lives.

*Check out the Parent to Parent note in the back of the book to learn how best to support your child.

A new study published in the journal, Nature Communications, suggests the average person has 6,200 thoughts per day. In 2005, the National Science Foundation published an article showing that of all our thoughts per day, 80% are negative and 95% are the same repetitive thoughts as the day before.

Learning a tool like this at an early age is a wonderful way to become your best self.

My review (originally written for Reader's Favorite)
Magic Thinking for Kids by Marrielle Monte, illustrated by Steven Celiceo is an adorable children’s book allowing kids to feel confident, positive, healthy, and happy. It is a wonderful introduction to positive affirmations. This self-regulation tool will be useful to both children and adults as they read together and practice making their own affirmations. The method is clearly explained at the end of the book. I particularly appreciated the “Do It Yourself” section which allows our children to invent their very own affirmations, selecting those they need. Being confident, ready to take on challenges, to learn, to study, to live a full and enjoyable life, ready to make the right choices or the wrong ones and fix things, are some of the things this book will allow them to do.
