My review (Originally written for Reader's Favorite)
Discovering the Great Teacher in You A Guide to Mindset and Practice by Christopher M. Stabile is a guidebook that immediately caught my attention. I have been a teacher for over twenty years and I have always made sure I continued to learn, to try to become a better teacher and this book was perfect for me. What appealed to me most was the fact that this book made me think and reassess some of my thoughts through metaphors, symbols (I am a literature teacher…). This book emphasizes the importance of the person-to-teacher journey and shows you how you can recognize your call to teach. It underlines the central questions we should all keep in mind when embracing this wonderful career. It is meant for teachers to be who will use the book as a reference before and during their transition to the classroom, but also for experienced teachers as it also illustrates practical ideas, offers refection, reference, review, and resources to increase student engagement. Everything in this guidebook is meant to help you grow as a teacher and my only regret is not to have found it on my path earlier!
