My favorite author is Sarah J. Maas. The New York Times
describes her works as “thrilling,” “a welcome breath of fresh air,” and
“exhilarating.” the worlds that Maas weaves are unlike any that I have read
about before. She writes in a way that keeps the reader flipping pages until
the very end, then anxiously awaiting the next installment in the series. I
have read eleven of Maas’s books, and each is fresh and interesting, unlike any
before it. Maas’s way of keeping her readers engaged is very unique. Maas
writes her stories around heroine protagonists who are strong, intelligent, and
incredibly brave. These types of protagonists were virtually nonexistent even
fifty years ago, and if they were written about, many saw the plots as cliché
and too womanly. In today’s society, we are seeing increasing representation of
women in heroics. Maas’s works are a great step in the right direction and are
ones that will not leave your mind even years after you read them.
