Pecha Kuchas to study literature : a guest post by Lucie.

A pecha kucha is the presentation of a project or for instance in our case of a book.
The presentation is made of 20 slides, all of them for 20 seconds so the presentation should last for exactly 6 minutes and 20 seconds.
For each slide, the speaker will talk about a specific topic concerning the work such as a theme, a symbol, a character if it is a story, an overall point of view…
In our class (OIB section), we did a pecha kucha about a play that we read called “A streetcar named Desire”. We really liked this task because it allowed us to talk about anything that we found interesting in the play but  we also needed to go straight to the point because the time we had for each slide was very short.
Doing the pecha kuchas was also very good for us as students because we learned how to sum up everything that can be said about a topic in a short amount of time and talk directly about the most important idea of the topic. So it was a great and instructive experience for our class.
