A magical tale about an Elf who becomes a living battery. Can he help Santa and save Christmas?
Sparkie is a hard-working elf who can fix any toy on the shelf. When the Christmas tree arrives in the center of Christmastown, he climbs up to protect it and gets hit by lightning!
Sparkie tries to return to work, but every time he sneezes, electricity shoots out. Now the other elves are afraid of him, and Sparkie ends up all alone.
When Christmas Eve comes, the Mayor goes to light the special tree that Santa uses to find his way, and with a POP, the power goes out. Will Santa have to cancel Christmas, or can Sparkie save the day?
With beautiful artwork by Ukrainian artist Fayza Snani, this fun tale told in rhyme, is a great read-out-loud book. It teaches children that we all have unique gifts, and to accept people who are different.

My review (originally reviewed for Readers' Favorite)
Sparkie The Elf, The Magic Christmas Tree, by Nicholas Saint is an adorable Christmas tale, beautifully illustrated by Ukrainian artist Fayza Snani. It is the story of a kind-hearted elf who, unfortunately -- at least seemingly -- gets hit by lightning. He will never be the same again afterward, as bolts of lightning shoot out from him, even when he sneezes. He seems to be made of electricity and scares his co-workers. He keeps being ostracized because of his difference. However, he ends up saving Christmas thanks to his singularity as did Rudolph the red-nosed Reindeer who became a hero after being mocked (also evoked in "The Nightmare Before Christmas" by Henry Selick). He was also abandoned by his so-called friends. He saved Christmas too. Or how a disgrace or accident can turn out to be a blessing!
An amazing tale of friendship, difference, and love of others. In a long line of stories dealing with lighting, which strikes for a huge change, here is a must-read without the shadow of a doubt!
